Difference between AI & AGI
Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is the software representation of generalised human cognitive abilities that would enable an AGI system to solve a problem when presented with a challenging task. An AGI system’s goal is to carry out every task that a human being is capable of.
A recent example is ChatGPT. A large language model (LLM) is used by ChatGPT, a generative AI tool, to produce text. Large artificial neural networks called LLMs take in a lot of digital text and use it to create a statistical “model.”
Based on the taught statistical model, LLMs simply anticipate the word that will follow a given sequence of words that is most likely to occur or be meaningful.
Concerns Arising from AI
An extremely powerful AI will make people into slaves.
LLMs can produce credible lies like fake news and cause intense mental suffering that results in self-harm, thus Malicious humans with powerful AI is a threat.
AI systems will continue to advance and be used to help people. Despite the best efforts of their creators, they could unwittingly wind up affecting some areas more than others like autonomous cars crash or wrong diagnose medical conditions.
India should take care of deploying AI systems on a broad scale, build methods of checks and balances. AI has enormous potential for use in a variety of fields, including public health, agriculture, transportation, and government.
