Shri N.K. Singh is a 1961-batch IPS officer. Receipt, Police medal for meritorious service, President Police Medal for Distinguished service & ‘Manav Seva Pursskar’, 1998, by Rotary Int ernational for crusade against corruption, both during and after service. During his first stint – from 1972 to 1980 – he arrested Mrs Gandhi in the Jeep scandal case in October 1977. The first time a former Indian prime minister has gone to prison. In the same year, he prosecuted Sanjay Gandhi and V.C. Shukla in the Kissa Kursi Ka case.
