Asteroidal Impact on Earth | A review by Shri. K. Siddhartha Sir
With The huge “potentially hazardous” #asteroid 1998 OR2, flown close to Earth on April 29, and had a close encounter with our covid – pandemic-ridden planet, Our Chief Mentor Shri K. Siddhartha who is also an #earth_scientist gives an overview about asteroids and the dangers we may have to face due to them. Although the current asteroid poses no threat to Earth during its flyby on 29th April 2020, asteroid 1998 OR2 is classified as a “potentially hazardous object” because it is a rather hefty space rock whose orbit intersects with Earth’s orbit at a distance less than 4.6 million miles (7.5 million km), or 0.05 astronomical units, the average distance between Earth and the sun. In this video Shri K. Siddhartha gave us an overview of the various impact of Asteroids such as, Hole in the atmosphere, Steam Explosions, Tsunami and various impacts on the environment.
