RIVERS OF YAKUTSK PLAIN
There are hundreds of river valleys all across the Yakutsk lowlands, which include the Lena, on which is located Yakutsk, the Vilyuy, the Tiong, and the Marakha.
The rivers of the lowland are subject to spring flooding during the thaw period and occasional rain floods in the summer.
During the winter, small rivers and rivulets freeze to the bottom and they become solid ice.
The centrally lowlands are flat, plain and slightly higher in its peripheral parts. Perm frost is continuous throughout the whole of the region.
