About CoWIN

A complete cloud-based IT solution for planning, implementing, overseeing, and evaluating COVID-19 immunisation in India is the COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network (CoWIN) system. It will offer real-time data on vaccine stockpiles, their storage temperature, and the individual tracking of COVID-19 vaccine recipients.

This software will help programme managers at all levels by automatically allocating sessions to pre-registered beneficiaries, verifying them, and providing a digital certificate after the vaccination schedule has been successfully completed.

COWIN

The Aarogya Setu and UMANG Apps have both integrated CoWIN, which performs the tasks of registration, appointment scheduling, identification verification, vaccination, and certification of each member who has been immunised.

About UMANG & Aarogya Setu

UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) is developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to drive Mobile Governance in India.

The Government of India created Aarogya Setu, a digital service that is mostly a smartphone application, with the goal of safeguarding citizens during COVID-19.

By educating the populace about their potential risk of COVID-19 infection and the best practises to follow to stay healthy, as well as by providing them with pertinent and carefully curated medical advisories, in accordance with MoHFW and ICMR guidelines, pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is intended to complement the initiatives of the Government of India.

In its most recent statement, the Health Ministry emphasised that the CoWIN site has security measures in place, including a Web Application Firewall, Anti-DDoS, SSL/TLS, routine vulnerability assessment, Identity & Access Management, etc. Only data access based on OTP authentication is offered. The CoWIN portal’s data security is being ensured by taking all necessary precautions, which have already been taken.
