Mount Etna on the east coast of Sicily, Italy is an active stratovolcano of height 3323 meter erupted second time in a month. It is the largest active volcano in Europe and one the world’s most frequently erupting volcano. There are two central craters called BOCCA and NUOVA and VORAGINE. Strombolian eruptions, which produce ash, tephra and lava fountains are fairly common in these craters. The eruption that took place today at mount Etna was from south eastern crater. Due to extreme smoke, stones and ashes that a raining down from Etna has created a great difficulty for flights in Europe, therefore international airport is closed down.
