The Madhya Pradesh government has started the Millet Mission scheme for the farmers of the state. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a cabinet meeting on Tuesday and after that, the cabinet approved the ‘Millet Mission’ plan.

80 percent subsidy to all farmers

Through the Millet Mission Scheme, the government is giving an 80 percent discount for the purchase of seeds for the cultivation of coarse grains. Farmers can buy such coarse grains from cooperative societies or government institutions directly. In such a situation, farmers will get relief from the cost of millet cultivation, and at the same time, it will also increase their yielding process. Farmers will also get more profit from the cultivation of coarse grains. The government has also constituted a committee for the implementation and monitoring of the scheme.

Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel said that millets are already being cultivated in tribal areas. Now all the farmers of the state will be connected with the Madhya Pradesh State Millet Mission and farmers will be encouraged to connect and increase the production of coarse grains.
